7/4/2009 Haley Bonar at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Haley Bonar declared her independence with a concert at the Walker Sculpture Garden on July 4th.  The South Dakota born songstress who has called Minnesota home for the past eight years is packing up and moving to Portland, Oregon - though she confessed to crowd that she didn't know for how long.  Backed up by Jacob Hanson on guitar, Bill Mike on bass and Luke Anderson on drums, Bonar moved through full numbers including a few from her 2008 release, Big Star, and  also reached back to older material.  She shone solo on "Am I Allowed?" which she said was the first song she wrote when she moved to Minnesota and appeared on her 2008 ...The Size of Planets full-length.  Wherever the universe takes this luminary, she always has a home in the North Star State.
